Harriet Zinnes, American poet, educator, critic, translator, and prose writer.
Summary
The papers consist of writings, correspondence, printed material, and a photograph. Writings (Box 1) are by Zinnes and include the books of poetry, Book of Twenty, printed version and My, Haven't the Flowers Been?, corrected typescript, with book jacket; The Radiant Absurdity of Desire: Short Stories, partial draft, typescript; four articles by Harriet Zinnes, printed versions, photocopies; and introductions to poetry readings, typescript drafts on notecards. Correspondents (Box 2) are Anaïs Nin, Ian Hugo, James Laughlin and others at New Directions, Mary de Rachewiltz, Donald Gallup, and others on the topic of Anaïs Nin's death. Printed material (box 2) is on Anaïs Nin and the photograph (Box 2) is of Anais Nin, inscribed "to Harriet from Anaïs Nin".
