"This issue of Boxkite has been produced after a long hiatus following the two earlier annual issues published by the Poetics Foundation. The journal has changed publishers as well as format. Commencing in 2004 Boxkite will be published bi-annually by Monogene in association with the School of Journalism and Creative Writing in the Faculty of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong, with a Challenge Grant from the Vice-Chancellor's office. This double volume (#3/4) features almost seventy writers from around fifteen countries. Future issues will contain a sound poetry supplement, a visual poetry feature, and our ongoing presentation of contemporary poetry, translations, essays and critical articles."--#3/4, page 5.

Boxkite ceased publication with the second issue in 1998, but was revived six years later with this double volume under a slightly different title.
