Summary
The nine muses: structured as an allegorical fable set between 1949 and 1970, comprising nine overlapping musical chapters that mix archival material with original scenes. Together, they form a stylized, idiosyncratic retelling of the history of mass migration to post-war Britain through the suggestive lens of the Homeric epic.
Seven songs for Malcolm X: Intercutting testimonies and eyewitness accounts with tableaux and dramatic reenactments, the film explores the life and legacy of Malcolm X. With his widow Betty Shabazz, Spike Lee, and many others.
The last angel of history: An examination of the relationships between music, Pan-African culture, science fiction, intergalactic travel, and computer technology. With George Clinton, DJ Spooky, Octavia Butler, Greg Tate, and Derek May.
