Frank E. Rue (1869-1943) was an architect in Texas, circa 1896.
Summary
Autograph letter, signed, from Frank E. Rue to his uncle Ross Rue. Ross Rue was an acquaintance of William McKinley, then president-elect of the United States. Frank E. Rue requested that his uncle ask McKinley to appoint his friend James Blair Keefer the postmaster of Houston, Texas, describing Keefer as a loyal member of the Texas Republican Party. McKinley later appointed Seth B. Strong instead, who served as Houston postmaster from 1898 until 1912.
