Edward F.J. Hills. 1863-ca. 1955, born in Littlehampton, England, came to Canada in 1883. He spent a year in Ontario before joining a Dominion Land Survey party which surveyed several townships near Carlton, Saskatchewan. He arrived in Calgary, Alberta in November 1884, and for many years worked as a cowboy on various southern Alberta ranches. He acquired his own ranch near High River, called the Echo Glen Ranch.
