Summary
Documentary highlighting Vietnam’s increased agricultural, industrial and cultural prosperity following the demise of French colonial rule and the establishment of socialism. The film begins by exploring the harsh conditions faced by the Vietnamese under imperial rule with footage of an abandoned prison. It then depicts how socialism has greatly improved the everyday life of the Vietnamese people, with scenes of farming and fishing, factories and metal works, housing construction and schools. Also depicts the beauty of the Vietnamese landscape, with scenes of rainforest wildlife including pythons, sloths, lizards, elephants, monkeys and bears.
