"The Bridge is the one-hundred-and-tenth publication of the Arion Press. The edition is limited to 300 numbered copies for sale and 26 lettered copies for distribution to participants in the project. All copies are signed by the publisher and the artist. The book in scroll format has been designed and produced under the direction of Andrew Hoyem, with the assistance of the following: typesetting, Andrew Hoyem; type distribution: Jeff Raymond; presswork: Blake Riley; bindery: Rochelle Youk, Nathalie Roland, Megan Gibes; office staff: Diana Ketcham, Chris Dunlap, Chris Dupin, Bruce Burns, Catherine Fox; M & H Type: Brian Ferrett, Chris Godek, Paul Kantlehner. The types are all handset: French Elzevir, cast by American Type Founders in the early twentieth century based on a modernized French oldstyle, originally purchased by the San Francisco printer John Henry Nash and acquired by the Grabhorn Press in the 1930s; and Kabel, a sans serif designed by Rudolf Koch 1926-29, cast by M & H Type. The paper was made by hand at the Red Star Paper Company in Wuxi, Anhui Province, China. The type and woodblocks were printed by letterpress on a Vandercook Universal III proofing press. The aluminum scroll spool was made by Kevin Binkert at Standard Metal Products in San Francisco. The box was constructed in the Arion Press bindery. The booklet containing the introductory essay was printed from Kabel type in Monotype composition on Magnani wove Italian mouldmade paper"--Colophon.
