Biographical / Historical Note
Samuel Buck (1696-1779) was a topographical draftsman and engraver who published many panoramic views of London with his younger brother Nathaniel Buck (1724-1759).
Summary
Autograph commonplace book containing fair copies of sermons, religious texts, and philosophical essays. Contents include several sermons by Archbishop John Tillotson; William Beveridge's "Thoughts on Religion;" and at least four essays by Joseph Addison. Buck may have copied the texts as a commemoration of his younger brother Nathaniel, who died in 1759.
