William Henry Twine (1862-1933) was an African-American civil rights attorney in Oklahoma who owned tthe Muskogee Cimeter, a newspaper published in Muskogee, Oklahoma, 1904-1921.
Summary
3 autograph letters, signed, from William Henry Twine. 2 letters addressed to Red Bird Investment Company, which encouraged settlement of African Americans in Red Bird, Oklahoma, discuss the circulation of 500 copies of the Muskogee Cimeter. 1 letter addressed to M. E. Johnson in Pittsburg, Kansas discusses the possibility of opening an unidentified college for African Americans.
