Biographical / Historical Note
Thomas Lilbourne Anderson (1808-1885) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was a lawyer admitted to the Kentucky bar in 1828. From 1840 to 1844, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives representing Missouri in 1857 and 1859.

Autobiography, unsigned, of Thomas Lilbourne Anderson, circa 1880. Included are Anderson's experiences as a lawyer in Saint Charles and Palmyra, Missouri, and as a supporter of the secession of Missouri during the Civil War.
