Blanche Collet Wagner (1873-1957) was a writer, artist, and translator living in San Marino, California. She was married to Henry Raup Wagner (1862-1957), book collector and historian of the American West.
Summary
Papers documenting Blanche Collet Wagner's work translating French documents from nineteenth-century California, notably Some phases of French society in San Francisco in the 'fifties: an appendix to the journal of Ernest de Massey (California Historical Society Quarterly, 1953). Includes several typescript copies of Wagner's translations, with manuscript annotations, as well as typescript letters, signed, between Wagner, her husband Henry Raup Wagner, Charles Camp, and editor of the California Historical Quarterly Gladys C. Wickson. Also includes a copy of Henry Raup Wagner's introduction to his wife's de Massey translation, and articles Blanche Collet Wagner translated from French-language newspaper Le Petit Californien.
