The Golden Gate International Exposition (GGIE) was held at Treasure Island in San Francisco, California, from 1939 February 18-October 29 and from 1940 May 25-September 29. The event celebrated the completion of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges.

32 photographs issued by the Golden Gate International Exposition office as part of its ongoing publicity campaign in 1938 to share ideas of projected and proposed buildings and pavilions. Depicted are plans for Hollywood Boulevard and Streets of the World; Temple of Religion; Christian Science Monitor Building; pavilions for France, Brazil, Hawaii, Australia, Norway, Argentina, Dutch East Indies, and Japan; Chinatown; Coliseum; Shasta Cascade; Floricultural Palace; Redwood Empire; Alameda Contra Costa; Alta California; California State Building; and Court of Great Seal. Included are an aerial view, bird's-eye view, and view of a scale model of Treasure and Yerba Buena Islands.
