Manuscript copy of remarks, signed, made by Senator Thomas Hart Benton and later submitted for a Congressional journal, 1822 April 22. Remarks concern Benton's resolution to take a census of “domiciliated” Native Americans. Accompanied by a note, signed, from Benton to Gales & Seaton (publishers of the Washington National Intelligencer), correcting a date, undated.
