Summary
This poll, conducted April 28-30, 2006, is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other political and social issues. Respondents were asked to give their opinions on the current direction of the country, the most important problem the country was facing, the national economy, the threat of Iran, the United States' involvement in Iraq, and to rate the job performance of Donald Rumsfeld. Respondents were also asked about the way George W. Bush was handling certain issues, such as the economy, gas prices, immigration, the war in Iraq, and terrorism, as well as whether they approved of his overall job performance. The next section of the survey addressed gasoline prices and the government's role in regulating them. The survey also contained questions about the status of women, working mothers, and the importance of children in marriage. Respondents were then asked about show business, celebrities, their favorite television shows, movies, and music, and whether they downloaded music or watched videos on the Internet. Additional questions asked for their opinions on video games and whether they watched morning or evening newscasts. Background information on respondents includes employment status, military service, voter registration status, party identification, marital status, sex, religious preference, education record, age, ethnicity, and income.Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR04615.v1
