Summary
This special topic survey focused on President Bill Clinton's economic plan -- specifically, whether respondents approved of the plan, whether Congress should pass the plan, and whether the plan was a step in the right direction for the country. Those queried were also asked whether they thought their share of the burden under the economic plan was fair and whether they supported some specifics of the plan, such as an increase in the federal tax on gasoline and diesel fuel and the new top federal income tax rate of 36 percent. The results of the poll were announced on the ABC television program "Nightline" the day the poll was taken. Demographic background variables include political orientation and sex.Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR06282.v1
