Summary
This poll, fielded October 6-8, 2010 is a part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicits public opinion on a range of political and social issues. Respondents were asked how well Barack Obama was handling the presidency, whether they felt that Barack Obama should be re-elected, and whether the country was going in the right direction. Opinions were collected about the Tea Party movement, gays serving in the military, the legalization of marijuana, prohibition, the Iraq war, Social Security, and the Voting Rights Act. Additional topics included Thanksgiving, Columbus Day, Halloween and trick-or-treating, fictional and hypothetical scenarios, and knowledge of common acronyms. Demographic information includes sex, age, race, marital status, education level, household income, employment status, religious preference, type of residential area (e.g., urban or rural), political party affiliation, political philosophy, and whether respondents thought of themselves as born-again Christians.Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR33062.v1
