Reverend E. W. Sehon was missionary secretary of the Shawnee Methodist Mission in Kansas, on which the Shawnee Indian Methodist Manual Labor School operated, circa 1859.

Manuscript statement of cash paid, receipt, and notes on payment rules for the Shawnee Indian Methodist Manual Labor School on the Shawnee Mission in Kansas, kept by Reverend E. W. Sehon, missionary secretary, 1855-1862. Notes reference the Treaty of St. Louis (1825), Treaty with the Seneca, Shawnees and Wyandots (1831), and Treaty with the Shawnee (1854)--all treaties in which the Shawnee tribe ceded land to the United States.
