James E. Russell of Lawrence County, South Dakota, was in charge of the United States Assay Office at Deadwood, South Dakota, in 1915.
Summary
3 printed United States Land Office certificates, signed and completed in typescript, granting James E. Russell of South Dakota land once comprising Camp Grant in Arizona, 1911 March 27-28. Accompanied by an autograph letter, signed, from S. G. Vazquez to Russell acknowledging receipt of payment for an overcoat and sweater, 1906 June 13; and printed location notice, signed and completed in typescript, recording Michael R. Russell's claim and relocation of the New District Fraction lode mine in Lawrence County, South Dakota, 1912 January 15. There is also a printed subscription blank for bonds of the Hercules Gold Mining Company of South Dakota, undated.
