Summary
Tøndermarsken is located at the western end of Southern Jutland, furthest towards the North Sea. The marsh is low, there are only a few ridges that rise more than 40 m above sea level. Due to the frequent floods, which left lots of nutrients, the area is very fertile, and also home to a very rich and varied animal, not least bird life. It is a very special area of Denmark, and the photographer Henrik Saxgren and the art historian Hans Edvard Nørregård-Nielsen have joined forces here to describe it in pictures and text.
