Summary
Photograph album with photographs taken by an unidentified individual of sites visited on a railroad trip through the western United States, circa 1890s. Depicted are Pasadena, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Santa Catalina Island, and Santa Cruz, California; Seattle and Tacoma, Washington; Salt Lake City, Utah; Pikes Peak and Cripple Creek, Colorado; North Dakota; and the Canadian Rockies. Included are photographs of the Pullman Car Company’s “Casa Monica” dining car and waitstaff. There are photographs of the 1893 World’s Columbia Exposition in Chicago, Illinois. 10 loose photographs are laid in to the front cover.
