Summary
Belgium born, Dries von Noten hails from a family of tailors and merchandisers -- but as young boy exposed to his father's business -- he decided early on that he preferred to design rather then sell garments. Educated at Antwerp's Royal Academy he started working and designing for a manufacturer while still at school. Often described as shy, quiet and reflective, Dries Van Noten's garments are equally quiet. Humble shapes are thoughtfully rendered in rich materials - sampling silhouettes, embellishments, and color palettes from cultures around the world.
