Leontine Brizard (1914-2005) of Scotia, California, served in World War II as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
Summary
Photograph album compiled by Leontine Brizard with 83 photographs of Skagway, Alaska, circa 1943. Images document Brizard's time working for the Bechtel Corporation--a sub-contractor of the United States Army Corps of Engineers--during the construction of the Alaska Highway. Depicted are Brizard and identified soldiers or acquaintances. There are also 15 commercial views of Skagway published by Dedman's Photo Shop and 2 postcards of the highway produced by Canada's Wartime Information Board.
