Summary
This documentary film which describes the deterioration and destruction of intellectual documents such as pamphlets, photographs, films, drawings and maps. The film assesses the situation, demonstrates preservation and restoration techniques, and suggests ways to prevent deterioration in future. Presents the first conference on preservation in Vienna, Austria, held at the Austrian Public Library. Includes comments by Warren J. Haas, William Welsh, and Vartan Gregorian. Also shows the Austrian National Library, the New York Public Library and the Library of Congress.
