Notes
Set of hand coloured maps relating to the French departments. Each map is surrounded by local specialties and explanatory text. The maps were issued in publisher's hard case. The wooden case was designed to look like a book with a small upper board serving as closure.
The cards have plain backs. Four preliminary cards are numbered I-IV: I. title card, II. Éxposé de l'ouvrage, III. Distribution, IV. Ordre des Départemens. Eighty-six cards feature circular maps based on those of Aristide M. Perrot.
