Originally attributed to Charles I, but, according to Madan (p. 125-33), it was written by John Gauden, who probably included some authentic writings of the King.
The words "Eikon basilike" on title page are in Greek characters.
With an allegorical portrait frontispiece (A1v) signed: R White sculp.
"Prayers used by His Majesty in the time of his sufferings" has separate dated title page; pagination and register are continuous.
