Biographical / Historical Note
L. John Nuttall (1834-1905) of Liverpool, England, was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1850. In 1852, Nuttall moved with his family to Utah. He was a member of the Council of Fifty and a private secretary for John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff, the third and fourth presidents of the LDS Church.

Carbon copy of typescript excerpts from the diary of L. John Nuttall originally completed between 1877 and 1879 and made by an unidentified transcriber at a later date (before 1970).
