Whereas the General Court of this commonwealth on the eighth day of March instant did resolve, "That eighty-five men ... be immediately raised within the town of Boston, as said town's proportion for compleating and recruiting the Massachusetts line of the Continental Army."--and whereas the General Court did further resolve ... to class the inhabitants of said town ... into eighty-five classes ... each person contained in such class shall pay towards procuring the man for said class ...
