Photograph album with circa 700 photographs taken by Sammy Davis Jr., 1952-circa 1965, documenting his personal and professional life. Photographs show scenes of Davis, his friends and family, and other people in the entertainment business at different locations in the United States, Caribbean, and Europe. Photographs depict scenes backstage and onstage at theaters and clubs during performances and rehearsals; at a baseball game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates; at restaurants, a beach, people's homes, and offices; and during air and automobile travel. People and groups depicted in the photographs include: Sammy Davis Jr., Davis's second wife May Britt, and their daughter Tracey Davis; Sammy Davis Sr.; Will Mastin; Will Mastin Trio; and Zero Mostel. Locations depicted include: Erlanger Theater in Buffalo, New York; London Palladium in London, England; Sunfax Market in Los Angeles, California; Palais Princier de Monaco; New York City; Niagara Falls; Forbes Field and the Copa Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and El San Juan Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Movie theater marquees and newspapers visible in images suggest the earliest photographs in the album date from approximately 1952.
