After the success of Franco's Settlers, their first film exploring the legacy of Franco's fascist dictatorship, Post and Palacio now investigate one of the darkest chapters of European history: the genocide allegedly planned and committed during the dictatorship. To this day, no one has been prosecuted for the regime's systematic atrocities. In 2010, victims filed a complaint in Buenos Aires, known as "Querella Argentina". 24 international arrest warrants have been issued. Franco on trial located the "Argentinian complaint" in its historical and judicial context and raises the question: Could this case lead to the last great trial regarding a fascist dictatorship of the 20th century? The Spanish Nuremberg?
