Summary
Business consultant and corporate executive Edward Adams was born on January 31, 1939. He graduated from the Horace Mann School in New York City in 1955. Adams received a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from New York University in 1959 and attended graduate school at the University of Vermont, where he studied business administration. He is also an alumnus of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he was a Stanford Sloan Executive Fellow. Adams began his career at IBM in 1964 as an assistant buyer. He held the positions of buying manager, procurement engineering manager, product industrial engineer manager, and information record division operations manager. He was also appointed administrative assistant to the IBM director of manufacturing. In 1975, Adams moved to Austin, Texas to serve as a product-system manager. He retired from IBM in 2000 to found a consulting firm. Adams passed away on April 8, 2008 at the age of sixty-nine.
