Summary
Singer Robert Michael DeBlanc was born on September 21, 1954, in Los Angeles, California. He first became interested in music while participating in an eighth-grade chorus group. In the 1970s, DeBlanc was a regular guest at the Mavericks Flat nightclub where he was first noticed by music industry executives. In 1972, DeBlanc graduated from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California. Afterwards, he enrolled at California State University-Los Angeles to pursue his degree in marketing. In 1976, DeBlanc auditioned as a background singer for Marvin Gaye. He and four other vocalists were chosen out of a hundred people. In 1991, DeBlanc married Cheryl Ann in Australia, where they lived until the late 1990s. They then moved to Las Vegas, where he performed and taught music. In 2009, he became a member of Little Anthony & The Imperials, a musical group that has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
