Biographical / Historical Note
Roger Duvoisin (1900-1980) was a Swiss-born American illustrator and author of children's books. Duvoisin won the Caldecott Medal for picture books in 1948.
Summary
A book dummy consisting of 35 illustrations by Roger Duvoisin for his book Veronica, published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1961. Includes 17 watercolor illustrations and 18 pen and ink drawings. The story is about Veronica, a hippopotamus who is never noticed among all the other hippopotamuses. Veronica sets out to find a country where she can be conspicuous, but finds city life not so great.
