Eslanda Goode Robeson (1896-1965) was an African American anthropologist, journalist, women's rights advocate, human rights activist, and writer. She was married to African American actor, singer, and activist Paul Robeson (1898-1976).
Summary
Seven photographs documenting the siege of Madrid, taken by Eslanda Goode Robeson, 1938. Images depict the destruction of buildings in the streets of Madrid caused by bombing. Also includes images of Paul Robeson playing football with children and meeting with a group of International Brigade soldiers.
