Biographical / Historical Note
Berta Hader (1890-1976) and Elmer Hader (1889-1973) were American authors and illustrators of children's books. The couple married in 1919 and won the Caldecott Medal in 1949 for The Big Snow.

Book dummy with typescript text and 20 pencil drawings by Berta Hader and Elmer Hader for their book Stop Look Listen, published by Longman's Green, New York, 1936. The story teaches children to be careful in dangerous situations, such as crossing the road. Also includes a printed copy of Stop Look Listen (New York : Longman's Green, 1936).
