Summary
All my wanderings are a book of memories of Jindřich Vacek. In it, the author recalls his childhood in Pilsen, his high school and university studies and especially his twelve-year stay in Bucharest, where as a university teacher he experienced the ruthless reality of the Ceausescu regime and Ilieska's brutal neo-communism. Considerable attention is paid in the book to trips to Lusatia, Albania, the Republic of Moldova, Israel and elsewhere, and to meetings with writers from these countries. The book concludes with the author's recollections of his work as a translator - among other things, he was the first to introduce translations of Israeli literature directly from Neo-Hebrew into the Czech Republic - and a publishing editor.--Publisher's website.
