Richard Wilbur (1921-2017) was an American poet and literary translator.
John Ridland (1933-2020) was a British-born poet and translator. He taught English at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Collection of correspondence between Richard Wilbur and John Ridland. Contains letters and postcards discussing American poets, including Robert Frost; a copy of Ridland's translation of Sándor Petőfi's poem John the Valiant; and copies of poems written by Wilbur and Ridland.
