The New Haven Branch of the Woman’s Board of Missions was founded in 1870 for the support of single female missionaries and other religious activities. It was an auxiliary to the Woman’s Board of Missions located in Boston, Massachusetts. The women’s boards cooperated with the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions.
