Anne Eliot (1603-1687) (born Hannah Mumford) married John Eliot (1604-1690) in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1632. John Eliot was founder of the first Indian Church in New England and was the first to translate the Christian Bible into an indigenous American language. Anne Eliot was a midwife in Roxbury, Massachusetts, following her arrival from England.
