Summary
Illuminated manuscript on parchment, incomplete, of a presentation copy of the Eulogium historiarum, Book V. One leaf wanting after f. 10r and one quire after f.15r. Ends imperfectly at the death of St. Edmund Rich in 1240, which corresponds to Book V, chapters 1-128, with gaps, of Haydon edition.
The Eulogium historiarum is a universal chronicle from the Creation to 1366 written in five books in Latin prose, probably by a monk at Malmesbury Abbey in Wiltshire. Book V presents the history of England from the legendary foundation of Britain to 1366 and relies on Geoffrey of Monmouth, William of Malmesbury, and the Anglo-Norman Prose Brut.
