The last verses of "Tuḥfat al-aṭfāl" enclude the date of composing the treatise and the number of its verse in "ḥisāb al-jummal" (Alphabetical reckoning); i.e., the year 1198 of the Hijrah (1783/1784); and 61 verses.

The text of "Tuḥfat al-aṭfāl" ends with the following verses: "... Wa-tamma dhā al-naẓmu bi-ḥamdi Allāhi // ʻalá tamāmihi bilā tanāhī. Abyātuhu naddun badā li-dhī al-nuhá // tārīkhuhā bushrá li-man yutqinuhā [i.e. the year 1198 of the Hijrah = 1783/1784]. Thumma al-ṣalātu wa-al-salāmu abadā // ʻalá khitāmi al-anbiyāʼi Aḥmadā. Wa-al-āli wa-al-ṣuḥbi wa-kulli tābiʻin // wa-kulli qāriʼin wa-kulli sāmiʻi."

Collection of two treatises, as follows: 1. "al-Iqtiṣād sharḥ al-Kawkab al-waqqād" (folios 1b-6a), a treatise on Islamic doctrines and Sufism, by Jalāl al-Dīn al-Sutūṭī (1445-1505), a prolific scholar of the late Mamelukes era (1250-1517), being a commentary on "al-Kawkab al-waqqād" (also called "al-Kawkab al-waqqād fī ṣaḥīḥ al-iʻtiqād"), of Abū al-Ḥasan ʻAlī ibn Muḥammad al-Sakhāwī, nicknamed "ʻAlam al-Dīn", an Egyptian Shāfiʻī faqīh (1163?-1245), born in Sakhā (Egypt) and died in Damascus (Syria). 2. "Tuḥfat al-aṭfāl" (folios 7a-7b), a treatise on "tajwīd" (Qurʼān recitation), in 61 verses, by Sulaymān ibn Ḥusayn al-Jamzūrī (active 18th century), an Egyptian Shāfiʻ scholar from Jamzūr (near Ṭanṭā, Egypt). The author finished writing his treatise in the year 1198 of the Hijrah (1783/1784). The two manuscripts are written in different hands. Name of copyists and places and dates of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.
