Summary
Manuscript volume, signed, created before 1890 by Henry Martyn Dexter to which 23 miscellaneous original manuscripts dating between 1619 and 1848 are adhered.
Dexter’s table of contents and manuscript notes identify the adhered documents as: an anonymous ms. written on the flyleaves of Sprint’s Cassander Anglicanus, 1618; an ancient copy of Gov. Bradford’s letter to his wife’s sister Mary Carpenter, 19 Aug. 1646; Money receipt from Rev. Samuel Whiting of Lynn; acknowledgment by Josiah Winslow and Thomas Hinckley, commissioners, of liquidated debt due from Plymouth Colony to Massachusetts Colony; Forms of ordaining deacons, and celebrating matrimony; Account of ordination of Rev. Samuel Jones at Philadelphia; Inventory of estate of Ephraim Morton; copy of the Sherman Document, etc.; and fragment of result of council and James Sherman’s confession.
