Manuscript has been restored at least twice; missing parts added by different scribes. Oldest part of manuscript (ff. 54-76, 176-220, 225-294) was written by scribe Step'anos at the church of Surb Astuacacin (Holy Theotokos) in AE 748 (=AD 1299). Another scribe, Margarē (whose name is mentioned in inscriptions on ff. 132, 222, 223), added ff. 77-78, 80-132, 135-175, 222-224, which have marginal miniatures likely completed in 14th century. In the late 16th or 17th century another scribe, unnamed, wrote ff. 5-53v, 79, 134, 224, and completed missing parts of ff. 54-76. Colophon on f. 294v states that the rabuni Psak wrote the "principal letters" (that is, the initials or capitals) in AE 1162 (=AD 1713).
According to principal colophon (ff. 292r-294v), Step'anos wrote the manuscript for his own use. A later colophon (f. 294v) in notragir, dated AD 1713, indicates the manuscript was subsequently owned by Honac'i Zak'ar, the priest Abgar, and his son Grigor.
