Summary
西岔沟墓地位于辽宁省北部的西丰县县城西偏北, 地处山顶, 因常年水土流失使部分墓葬受到破坏, 1956年辽宁省博物馆文物工作队前往西岔沟墓地现场进行清理和发掘. 1959年辽宁省博物组织了西岔沟墓地发掘报告编写小组. 1960年发掘报告初稿完成后, 没有开展进一步的工作,2013年初, 发掘报告的资料整理工作正式启动. 根据发掘者估计, 原来墓地应有500座左右的墓葬, 清理出的墓葬为63座, 是其中很少一部分.随葬品丰富的并有贵重金属随葬的墓葬绝大多数被破坏, 盗掘. 出土器物可分为陶器, 铜器, 铁器, 金银器, 石质和其他质地器物等五大类. 除发掘所得器物外, 还有部分回收器物. 西岔沟墓地断代为西汉早期晚段至西汉中晚期, 主体年代在西汉中期.墓地包含多种文化因素, 从随葬器物, 葬俗两方面可以看出, 其包含中原文化, 汉书二期文化, 匈奴文化, 辽北吉南地区的宝山文化, 吉长地区与夫余相关的考古学文化等五种文化因素. 而关于西岔沟墓地的族属, 有匈奴, 夫余, 乌桓三种观点.
