Summary
"Lauryn Redding's Bloody Elle is a one-person gig musical set to an original score, exploring the experience of falling in love for the first time. It was first performed at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, on 23 June 2021. The show begins with an 'unprologue' performed by bolshy and outspoken Elle, who says she is going to tell her own story, 'not your average love story about a girl and a boy'. Elle (short for Danielle) lives with her mam and brother on the tenth floor of a high-rise in a city in the north of England. She is an aspiring musician, playing a few gigs whenever she can, while working full-time at 'Chips and Dips'. When new recruit Eve (just up from London with her dad, Elle considers her 'posh') starts work at Chips and Dips too, everything starts to change for Elle. The premiere production was directed by Bryony Shanahan and designed by Amanda Stoodley. It was performed by Lauryn Redding"--About the play.
