Walter De la Mare (1873-1956) was a British poet, novelist, and short story writer.
Francesco Bianco was an Italian-born bookseller who lived in England and America. He was married to the author Margery Williams Bianco (1881-1944). Their daughter, Pamela Bianco (1906-1994), was an artist and illustrator, who began her career as a child prodigy.
Summary
18 autograph manuscript letters, signed, from Walter De la Mare to Francesco Bianco, discussing poetry and other writing; the possibility of De la Mare writing about the art of Bianco's daughter, Pamela Bianco; and personal matters. The collection also contains additional letters from De la Mare, including two autograph manuscript letters, signed, to Margery Williams Bianco; and one autograph manuscript letter, signed, to William Heinemann, discussing Pamela Bianco's art. Also includes two autograph manuscript poems by De la Mare: "As I was walking" and "One moment take thy rest"; one typescript poem by De la Mare, titled "The Wanderers"; and one printed pamphlet for an exhibition of Pamela Bianco's art at the Print Rooms of Hill Tolerton, San Franscisco, California, May 5-27, 1922.
