Autograph manuscript letter and three autograph manuscript postcards, signed, from Michel Leiris to Edward Burns. The letter discusses Leiris's dissatisfaction with the translation into English of his poems from Textes Modernes, and that he will not authorize the translation's publication. Includes a typescript photocopy of translations of Leiris's poems, titled Waves; the translations are by Danièle Lasser, Mitchel Lasser, and Carol Barko. Accompanied by a letter from Francis Bacon to Edward Burns, in which he conveys his enjoyment of meeting Leiris and his wife, Zette; his hopes to return to New York in the near future; and his completion of an unidentified triptych painting.
