Summary
Passport - (1F, 2M) This is the story of "Eugenia," whose world travels have gone on so long she's now lost between people, borders, countries and languages. When a soldier disappears with her passport in a strange train station, Eugenia falls into a nightmare of interrogation and torture to uncover her hidden identity. When she tries to explain, the guard and soldier don't understand her. Language becomes a weapon. As Eugenia begins to understand herself and the people around her, she discovers her journey has come full circle. This is her home, her country, her language. Now they all can understand each other, but they decide they don't really care. This is a play about lost (or stolen) identity, about a society unable to communicate through language.
