William Satchwell Leney (1769-1831) was an English-born engraver who worked in New York and Montreal.
Summary
Engraved portrait of David Hume, printed and engraved by William Satchwell Leney, after John Thurston, circa 1800s. Also includes four printed call slips completed in manuscript, possibly in the hand of Frederick W. Hilles, used to request four editions of Mary Chandler’s book The Description of Bath at an unidentified rare books reading room; one leaf from a catalogue issued by bookseller Edward C. Lowe; and a booksellers’ ticket from Peter Murray Hill Ltd.
