"McLoughlin Bros., 30 Beekman Street, New York"--publisher's advertisement for paper dolls and paper furniture, p. [4] of wrapper. McLoughlin Bros. was located at 30 Beekman St. between 1863 and April, 1870. (See obituary for John McLoughlin, Publishers' weekly, May 6, 1905.) Variant issues: this issue has illustrations that are hand-colored and printed with lined relief blocks. In another issue, The illustrations are printed in color with stipple grain blocks (zinc etchings?). Wood engravings signed by Edward P. Cogger."
