Summary
A book designer's mock-up consisting of pencil illustrations and pencil scribbles simulating text. A copy of the published version of King Pin was not located in NUC pre-1956, the Baldwin, Osborne, and Library of Congress catalogs, or in the Research Libraries Information Network (RLIN). Judging from the illustrations, the book is about the comical encounters of various people and animals with a straight pin. Title and imprint from a pencil sketch of cover design, p. [1] of paper wrapper. The illustrations are probably the work of W. Bruton, who worked as an illustrator for McLoughlin Bros., Inc. in the 1880s. Item in hand was purchased with a book designer's mock-up that is similar in illustration style, and is signed: Bruton 1881.
